No link in youths' deaths - police

By: Tim Fookes | Latest Crime News | Saturday September 15 2012 16:59

Police on the Kapiti Coast say there doesn't appear to be a link between this morning's killing of a 20-year-old and the death of a teenager just a month ago.

The 20-year-old man was stabbed to death after a fight in a carpark in Paraparaumu just before 1am this morning.

A person aged in their 20s is being spoken to by officers.

The death comes a month after 17-year-old Izak Millanta was killed in a nearby shopping centre carpark, but Area Commander Inspector John Price says both don't appear to be related.

Inspector Price says police did have extra officers patrolling the streets last night.
