Police investigate suspicious death in Chch

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Crime News | Wednesday July 11 2012 13:01

Christchurch police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in Burwood.

The body was found inside a Travis Road home around 10.15am this morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill says a scene examination is underway and police are providing support to family members.

The property's cordoned off with incident tape and there's a police caravan onsite.

Nearby resident Nick Lynch says he can see a lot of officers outside, both uniformed and plain clothed.

"Outside the front of the house was cordoned off, there were a number of police cars and looking up the driveway I could see a caravan and what looked to be possibly some family members, some flowers."

Mr Lynch says flowers have also been placed alongside a fence by the house.
