Calls for witnesses to security van robbery

Police want to hear from witnesses to last night's aggravated robbery of a security van in Auckland.

It happened outside the ASB in Lynfield just after 6pm.

Security staff were robbed at gunpoint by two men as they walked back to their van.

The offenders stole a container and drove off in a Silver Nissan with the registration EBH925 - it was recovered shortly afterwards in Orcades Place, Lynfield.

Avondale police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the robbery.
