Bradley sentence a 'hollow victory' - investors

| Latest Crime News | Friday October 19 2012 16:14

The victims of Jacqui Bradley's ponzi scheme have spoken of their lives being completely devastated by the convicted fraudster.

Ms Bradley has today been sentenced to seven years and five months in prison, for swindling 24 investors out of $15 million in savings.

Many of those involved thought themselves close friends of Ms Bradley.

Auckland woman Kathleen McDermond sold her mortgage-free home and her former friend convinced her to invest the proceeds with her.

"And I did because she is a very plausible, manipulative woman."

Ms McDermond says the sentence is a hollow victory.
