Light bulb used in Queenstown stabbing

By: Alexia Russell | Latest Crime News | Tuesday February 7 2012 10:55

Police say a broken light bulb was used as a weapon in what appears to have been a family fight at a Queenstown hotel.

A 21-year-old male has been treated at Lakes District Hospital for wounds to his torso and legs after the incident early on Sunday morning.

An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He'll be appearing in the Queenstown District Court today.

Police say both men are from Saudi Arabia and are related, and are both attending an English language school in Christchurch.
