New Zealand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Australia to trial reciprocal sharing of criminal history information. Justice Minister Judith Collins says it's for employment vetting purposes. The move comes after a case where a New Zealand man allegedly defrauded Queensland Health of $16 million and didn't reveal past convictions here. The six month trial is part of a wider programme of work supporting border control and law enforcement, consistent with the free movement of people across the Tasman. Photo: NZ Herald |
