Many people are falling well short of retirement savings goals. An ASB Bank survey of those in KiwiSaver shows people need to save three to four times more than the average $50 a week they're putting away now. Spokesman Blair Turnbull says 30 percent of people still aren't saving. "And when asked that question, the number one response was they can't afford it and the second response, particularly for those under 30-years of age, was they feel they are too young to save." Mr Turnbull says many people may have to look at other options to support themselves, such as selling their family home, or even working for longer. |
