The Revenue Minister is trying to find out just why his department's website has crashed on deadline day for businesses to file GST returns.
The site went down just before lunchtime, meaning businesses can't file their returns.
A spokesman for Peter Dunne says he's trying to find out what is happening and will be making no comment until more is known about the situation. However, she says the IRD is working as quickly as possible to restore the website for customers. The Inland Revenue Department is apologising for the inconvenience people have experienced.
