Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium has posted a loss of $1.9 million in its first six months of operation. The stadium managed by Dunedin City Council arm Dunedin Venues Management, opened just before the Rugby World Cup last year. Figures released this afternoon show the stadium lost $1.9 million from July to December last year. The loss was put down a number of factors including it being a young business competing in challenging conditions and difficulty attracting large concerts. Dunedin Venues Management says staging the Rugby World Cup cost $400,000. Photo: Photosport |
