Optimism high in financial sector

By: Blair Cunningham | Business News | Monday February 27 2012 19:20

Optimism maybe high in the New Zealand finance and accounting scene, but that's not matched by sector growth.

Nearly 80 percent of chief financial officers and finance directors surveyed are confident about the country's prospects this year.

Almost 90 percent of those surveyed are equally optimistic about their company's growth prospects.

However just 13 percent of directors are planning to hire new staff.

Recruitment firm Robert Half says New Zealanders need to reconsider the time is right to start hiring again.
