Reserve Bank urged to focus on NZ issues

By: Annabel Reid | Business News | Monday June 11 2012 7:48

The Reserve Bank's being urged to focus on issues in this country, not Europe, when it releases its Monetary Policy Statement.

The Reserve Bank will release the statement this week.

Business correspondent Roger Kerr says the troubles in Europe will have some influence, but the real focus needs to be on what's happening in New Zealand.

He says commodity prices, demand for exports and the pace of the Christchurch rebuild are pressing matters here.

Mr Kerr says the Reserve Bank can't be too complacent about the country's inflation outlook.
