Weather plays part in Kiwi economy

Weather plays a big part in the New Zealand economy.

Wholesale power prices were up 10.7 percent in the June quarter, and nearly 30 percent for the year.

Newstalk ZB's business correspondent Roger Kerr says lower lake levels are pushing up the electricity prices.

He says it's businesses which are paying for it, and they're finding it difficult passing the rise on to customers.
