Retail stocks are on the rise.
The Warehouse, Kathmandu, Pumpkin Patch and Restaurant Brands have all had modest gains on the sharemarket.
Newstalk ZB's business correspondent Roger Kerr says there are encouraging signs for retailers.
"I mean you wouldn't say that retail is massively buoyant but it's pretty steady - four percent growth in retail sales over the last 12 months and I think a positive economic outlook is encouraging."
Roger Kerr says Hallensteins Glassons, Briscoes, and Michael Hill have all recorded good profit results.
