New vehicle sales growing

New vehicle sales are showing no signs of slowing down.

Last month saw the total number of new vehicles sold up 25% compared to July last year, bringing the number to more than 8,300.

MTA spokesman Ian Stronarch says compared with other sectors, vehicle sales are continuing to deliver healthy results.

He's putting it down to a combination of vehicle replacement by fleet owners, as well as increasing confidence amongst private buyers.
