Team NZ claims second on day two

By: Elliott Smith | Latest News | Saturday June 30 2012 15:41

Emirates Team New Zealand's returned to the water with success on day two of the America's Cup World Series regatta in Newport.

After capsizing their boat on day one, they've claimed a second in the fleet race in their only race of the day.

The Dean Barker skippered boat led through the first top mark, before the starboard dagger board-lifting post broke away.

The crew were unable to raise the board, dragging it downwind while they rigged a temporary repair to get them across the line, seven seconds behind winners Oracle.
