Cunliffe 'doing the numbers'

By: Annabel Reid | Latest News | Wednesday November 14 2012 12:56

Talk that David Cunliffe's doing the numbers, as rumours fly about uprooting David Shearer as leader of the Labour party.

National's Steven Joyce claims Mr Cunliffe was spotted with 11 colleagues in a private dining room last night.

Labour's Annette King says that's rubbish, and David Shearer has the party's support.

Annette King seemed adamant Shearer would stay when asked on Newstalk ZB this morning.

"I am telling you he will be there, he will lead the Labour party into the next election and he will lead the next government."

Steven Joyce suggested the National party also support Shearer in his current position.

"We all think he should (stay.) We're putting together a little Facebook page called National for Shearer."

Joyce went on to say David Shearer will be gone by February.
