The Hurricanes have handed the Crusaders their first loss in Christchurch this season, defeating the home side 23-22 at AMI Stadium. Beauden Barrett nailed a penalty with five minutes to play to edge the visitors ahead. Replacement Crusaders first five Tyler Bleyndaal attempted a long range penalty to win the match on fulltime, however it fell just short.
