Gill beats Valerie Adams

Jacko Gill has won the battle of the sexes at the international track meet in Christchurch.

The world junior champion has beaten women's world and Olympic champion Valerie Adams in the open shot put at Christ's College.

Throwing with the same weight shots, Gill has recorded a best of 22.06 metres, while Adams has managed a best of 20.35.

Nick Willis has finished second in the two mile race behind his American training partner Will Leer.
