Early Childhood Council slams Govt's proposal

By: Nicola Grigg | Latest National News | Saturday February 4 2012 6:24

Early Childhood providers are up in arms at government proposals which would affect hundreds of thousands of children and families.

The Treasury is recommending early childhood funding should be targeted, to children in low-income households.

The Early Childhood Council says there's a lot of concern in the sector that the moves will mean higher costs for average families, and a decline in the quality of early childhood education.

It says families are already paying more following the revenue cuts announced in 2010.
