Sober long weekend for FebFast NZers

By: Jacqui Stanford | Latest Health News | Saturday February 4 2012 9:24

There's no beer in the fridge for a lot of New Zealanders this long weekend.

It's the second year of the FebFast fundraising initiative, in which people give up alcohol for the whole month.

The proceeds will go to four charities to help tackle problem drinking.

Coordinator Catherine Milburn says the team is encouraging participants to stay focused this long weekend.

However she says many she has spoken to are not tempted and do not want to buy Time Outs.

Time Outs allow those taking part to have a night of drinking, if they have a special occasion or slip up.
