Pedestrian hit and killed by train

A pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a train in the Auckland suburb of New Lynn.

The incident happened just after 4pm.

The train has been stopped and is partially blocking Portage Road.

The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating and police are also making enquires to identify the deceased.
