Police hunt escaped prisoner

Police are on the hunt for an escaped prisoner in Canterbury.

Neil Joseph Anderson ran off from Christchurch Hospital just after 5pm last night.

The 46-year-old had been receiving treatment but jumped out of a window and ran off towards the Botanical Gardens wearing a hospital gown and handcuffs.

He's described as a male Caucasian, 1.7 metres tall, and with thinning blond hair.
