ATM ripped from Northland service station

By: Natasha Burling | Latest Crime News | Friday February 3 2012 12:02

An ATM has been ripped from a Northland service station.

Police say three robbers entered the Caltex Service Station in Kawakawa just before three this morning.

A gun was pointed at the lone station attendant and the money machine was rammed and stolen.

Sergeant Rhys Johnston says a burnt out vehicle has been found in Pipiwai Road near Kaikou.

"We believe the offenders have had a second vehicle in that area so we're appealing to public for any information about suspicious vehicles, particularly those with an ATM in the back as we're still missing that machine," he says.

Rhys Johnston says the station attendant is shaken but not hurt.
