Staff want cut of Briscoes' profit

By: Nicola Grigg | Latest Business News | Friday February 3 2012 10:22

Staff at Briscoes want a cut of the company's $27 million profit.

Briscoe Group CEO Rod Duke has announced the company has made an after-tax profit of at least $27 million, up 25 percent on last year.

FIRST Union represents workers at Briscoes and Rebel Sports who are currently bargaining for a new employment agreement.

Union Secretary Maxine Gay says shop workers are an essential part of the company's strong result.

She says the Briscoe Group profit shows there is plenty of room for the company to move, and shop workers are looking for an improved wage offer.
